Matthew 10:41,42: He had to "BREAK" you in order to "BLESS YOU"
Are you ready to "TRADE PLACES" from what you "were" to whom you always been?
In the 1983 classic movie, "Trading Places" , ex-homeless "war veteran" turned Wall Street Executive, Billy Ray Valentine is brought out of obscurity into a secret experiment, hosted by Randolph and Mortimer Duke, owners of the Duke & Duke Investment Brokers, where they decided, over a conversation in their office about how they wanted to see if they could an honest successful executive with the firm,(Louis Winthorpe III) and turn him into a desolate and desperate "would be" killer and take a young brother of "color", like Valentine and bring him out of the ghetto and bring him into privilege, prestige, and prominence, of "TRADING PLACE" with his unknown co-victim, at the expense of a bet made for $1.00.
Once Valentine has been offered a home, a car, a generous bank account and employment with Duke and Duke, He meets his new "servant," Coleman, but because of being in unfamiliar surroundings, he starts to operate in old behavior and proceeds to steal things which were given to him by no fault of his own. Reluctantly, he doesn't believe that all he has been bestowed belongs to him, so because of his ignorance, he starts fumbling around with an antique vase that unbeknownst to him, has a "peculiar and uncommon" value. After attempting a "Harlem Globetrotter" trick with the vase, the antique slips out of his hands and shatters in pieces all over the floor and it appears to be irreparable, but the Duke Brothers share some information, as well as inspiration, which is astonishing to the ears of Billy Ray. After misjudging the value, Billy Ray declares the vase of being a fake, but the Dukes stated they purchased the vase at a cost of $35,000. Billy Ray's eyes open in complete awe.
Then to make it the situation more interesting, Randolph stated he had the vase was "covered" by their insurance company and was "VALUED" at $50,000. So in the mishandling of the vase, The Duke Brothers received a PROPHET, (I mean profit) of $15,000. So because Billy Ray is still ignorant to the process and felt he could make them money by "breaking their possessions", he asks if the Dukes if he would like to "break something else?" The Dukes and Coleman intently say, "NO!"
Brothers and Sisters, people who have "mishandled" you, who have underestimated your gifting, your anointing, your value, your meaning and your significance, don't realize that even if you have had situations in your life that have made you "fall to the ground and come apart," Little do they know that your "VALUE" supersedes their assessment, your "MEANING" surprises their assumption and your SIGNIFICANCE startles their assertion about you, as well as supports the assignment on your life.
You have to come to the understanding that when you've been "BOUGHT" & "COVERED" by God, how PROPHET-ABLE you are to the Kingdom of God. Jesus the Christ "Traded Places" with you at Calvary on an old rugged Cross. His Blood, which was shed for the remission of sins, COVERED you from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet, for by His Death, Burial and Resurrection, you have been "BOUGHT" with a price(salvation). What may appear to look "inexpensive, easy and cheap" to some, is all the more "valuable, meaningful and significant" to God. Even in your brokenness, you still hold tremendous VALUE, based on your ap"PRAISE" al. Remember, God can take "LESS" and do "MORE" with it. Sometimes the people who mistreat you lose out on being the beneficiary of how valuable you really are.
